Frequently Asked Questions
Cake Orders
Why choose Jessie's Magic Oven?
All of our cakes are uniquely designed, hand crafted & freshly made for our clients. We make sure each cake not only looks fabulous but tastes fantastic too.
How to order?
You can get in touch with us by email or by telephone with some key information. For example, what event is the cake for, the approximate number of guests you want to serve, the date you want the cake for and the colour, theme or style of the cake if you already know. If you're not sure what kind of cake you want yet, not to worry, we're happy to help you to come up with ideas that give you the dream cake for your event.
How much notice do you need?
For wedding cakes we recommend booking in as soon as you can, preferably 4-6 months before the event especially in the wedding months from March to September. For birthdays, as much notice as possible but one months’ notice is usually ok.
Collection or Delivery?
For wedding cakes, we usually offer and recommend delivery by us, so that we can assemble & add the finishing touches to your cake at your wedding venue to ensure the finished cake is absolutely perfect for your big day. A fee will be applied for all deliveries. This will vary depending on the distance from our studio. For other celebration cakes you can by all means collect yourself. We recommend the cake be transported flat and on non-slip matting in the boot of your car, or on the floor of the car (NOT on the seat as they're not flat) but remember to turn off the heating so it doesn't melt the cake. No responsibility will be taken by Jessie's Magic Oven once the cake has left our studio. The sole responsibility is that of the customer.
How to store my cake?
We recommend you to store your cake in a cool and dry environment. Never store your cake in a fridge as this will cause condensation to collect on the cake surface which can damage decorations and possibly ruin the cake. After the cake has been cut, the remainder can be stored in the fridge and should be eaten within 2-3 days. If you want to keep a tier or part of your wedding cake for your 1st wedding anniversary, you can freeze it in an air tight container & defrost it in the fridge 24 hours before you want to eat it.
